About Andrew

Andrew Sedlacek is a Certified Public Accountant and the founder of OGCPA. The explainers across this site are written and reviewed by Andrew, drawing on direct experience advising clients through equity compensation decisions, liquidity events, and the wealth that follows.

Andrew began his professional career as a licensed financial advisor, gaining early insight into investment and retirement planning. After moving into accounting, he cut his teeth at a local firm in Bend, then worked his way up to Deloitte's tax team in Guam before founding OGCPA in 2019. Alongside the firm, he has served as Board Treasurer for a national nonprofit, as CFO of a regional operating company in Dallas, and on the founding team of a Y Combinator-backed AI startup. Today he also serves as the tax subject-matter expert for a venture-backed AI company.

That mix of tax, technology, and equity is not a coincidence. It is exactly where his clients live, and it is why OGCPA focuses on proactive, year-round planning rather than once-a-year compliance.

Why this matters for what you read here

Tax content affecting your money deserves a named, credentialed person standing behind it. Everything in the resources section reflects current law, including the 2025 and 2026 changes made by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and is written to be accurate and genuinely useful rather than to chase clicks. None of it is a substitute for advice on your specific situation, which is what working together provides.
